Larry Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer
Larry joined the SMMC team in February, 2010, coming to West Texas from College Station where he served as Chief Operating Officer of College Station Medical Center, overseeing hospital operations, facility expansion and development projects. Additionally, he has served as Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Moberly Regional Medical Center, in Moberly, Mo., and interim Chief Executive Officer of Navarro Regional Hospital, Corsicana, TX.
Judy Roever, Chief Nursing Officer
Judy joined SMMC in 1994 as an RN in the Emergency Department. After serving as a charge nurse in that area for more than five years, she spent a year as Director of Staff Development. Returning to the ED, Judy led the department as Director until 2005, when she was named Interim Chief Nursing Officer and CNO in 2006. A great believer in the power of education, Judy has consistently worked toward advanced nursing degrees most recently earning a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in May of 2010.
John Irby, Chief Financial Officer
John joined the SMMC team in October, 2011, coming to West Texas from College Station where he served as Assistant Chief Financial Officer of College Station Medical Center (CSMC). Prior to his time at CSMC, John acquired 10 years diverse healthcare experience working for a Medicare fiscal intermediary, a big 4 public accounting firm, and at the Community Health Systems corporate office. John has two degrees, a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and Masters of Accounting, from Belmont University; he is also a certified public accountant.
Dwight Linton, Director of Human Resources
Dwight Linton joined the SMMC team in 2009, coming to West Texas from Rockville, Maryland where he was a Senior Consultant in the field of healthcare management and hospital operations. Prior to management consulting, Dwight spent eight years with HCA in Austin, TX in a variety of roles leading up to Director of Human Resources. Dwight has two bachelors’ degrees from the University of South Florida, a Masters degree from Barry University and a MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in Management and Operations.
Amy Miramontes, Director of Quality Management & Regulatory Compliance
Amy has been a part of the SMMC team for 8 years. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and worked in the Surgical Services department for 3 years. She became the facility Risk Manager and Patient Safety Officer in 2005. In 2006, Amy accepted the Interim position of Director, Quality Management and was name the permanent director in June 2006.
Ricky Villareal, Administrative Specialist
Rick joined SMMC in August, 2011, coming to Big Spring from South Texas Regional Medical Center where he administered development projects, clinic operations and various hospital operations. A native to West Texas, Rick holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University.
