Repairs Temporarily Close SMMC Café

(May 23, 2011) - According to Randy Vaughn, Director of Plant Operations for Scenic Mountain Medical Center (SMMC), the hospital’s cafeteria will be closed for at least a week. On Monday morning, workers began removing the flooring in order to repair some drain lines under the concrete slab.

Affectionately know as the Yellow Rose Café, the SMMC cafeteria is a popular gathering spot for hospital employees, visitors and guests from the community. While Vaughn regrets the inconvenience to Café regulars, “the safety of our staff and our guests is our primary concern.” Workers will strive to re-open the area as quickly as possible. “Thank you for your patience and cooperation”, says Vaughn
