The Scenic Mountain Medical Center laboratory is a Joint Commission accredited laboratory providing quality services that our physicians and patients need. We offer today's modern technology with complete laboratory and diagnostic services. Innovative technology that saves time and effort and offers our physicians and patients accurate up-to-date information is a primary goal of our clinical laboratory.

The SMMC laboratory performs clinical assays for physicians, home health agencies, nursing homes and other laboratories in addition to serving our inpatients and outpatients. Our principle objective is to provide accurate and diagnostically meaningful test information. Stringent quality control programs are an integral part of all testing procedures.

Our lab participates in proficiency evaluation programs in conformance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act, College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Banks. We offer laboratory testing in the areas of chemistry, microbiology, hematology, clinical microscopy and transfusion medicine. Our laboratory is a 24hours a day, 7 days a week operation. Personnel certifications include registered medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians and certified phlebotomy staff.
